Pascale Pflueger : School of Economics and Finance.

Hi, I’m Pascale Pflueger and I’ve just completed a Masters of Business Marketing at the Sydney Graduate School of Management, at the University of Western Sydney.
I did this course because I wanted to change careers, and I chose SGSM because it has small classes and a very supportive culture, which is really important to me because they improve the quality of your learning experience.
Small classes are more intimate and you get more personal, one on one time with the lecturers because they can dedicate more time to you. And there’s more interaction and discussion between students, so you get more in-depth understanding of what’s being taught.
The lecturers are really approachable, in and out of class, so you can email them any time and they’ll give you feedback. They’re always giving you tips and hints with what you’re doing. So you feel like you’re being mentored rather than lectured.
The Graduate School also gives you a lot of support out of class too, especially for foreign students. Their support services and student consultants will help you with personal problems, or feeling homesick, with visas, or finding you work and internships.
They also put on lots of welcome barbecues for new students, and organise lots of sports and social events, to give you opportunities to engage with local students.
Studying here you have to work hard, but it’s balanced between theoretical and practical, serious and social. And there are lots of international faces here, so wherever you’re from, you’ll fit in and have a really enjoyable experience.
