Hi, I’m Manisha Sethi and I’ve just completed my Masters of Accountancy at the Sydney Graduate School of Management.
Having done an undergraduate degree in India I came here to improve my skills, gain additional qualifications and acquire professional accreditation that has international standing.
As well as improving your knowledge and skills, the Masters course at SGSM exposes you to people from different cultures, giving you global insights into how things are done, and how people think. It improves your communication skills and your career prospects. It opens your eyes to the fact accountancy is a very transferable, international career.
My ambition was to become an accountant and get a good position in a good company. Doing this course has helped me personally, to change for the better. It’s turned me from an accountant and into a successful business woman.
In addition to all those outcomes, I’ve also been able to start an entirely new business life that I couldn’t have in India, that’s benefited the whole family.
My husband and I now own and manage five sunglass stores, all of which we have built up in less than a year. It was an idea we got while I was studying, and by doing the Masters I came to understand how we could achieve it.
Graduating with these qualifications and accreditation, you can achieve anything you want, anywhere in the world. I’ve proved that.
