David Gable : Masters of Marketing

Hi, I’m David Gable, and I’m doing a Masters of Marketing at the Sydney Graduate School of Management.
I wanted to take my career to the next level, but working full time as the marketing manager of a large international company, I wasn’t sure I could put in the time and commitment needed to do it properly.
But the academics and support staff at SGSM showed me how I could do it, successfully. And now they’re helping me do it.
My biggest fear wasn’t hard work, but the prospect of failure. I didn’t know if I could balance my work, my family and my studies and not fail at one of them?
They showed me how I could do it in small steps, and pace myself, while taking into account my other commitments. So they helped me organise an achievable workload. I’m doing one unit a quarter and that’s really working for me. Which is really motivating, because if you try to do too much you won’t do it.
They also have a fantastic client service team. I’m in there all the time, with all sorts of questions, and they’re always willing and able to help me, right there and then. They really do care about the students, and want to see us all succeed.
And I’m going to, no question. Thanks to the help SGSM have given me in getting over all the obstacles a mature student like me faces.
